Fallout New California Keeps Crashing

I'm sure this has been asked several times, but can i get some help? Every time i try to enter the Atrium for the first time the game crashes to desktop after giving me ' Project Vegas could not detect the New Vegas Script Extender (NVSE), which is required for correct operation.' I have downloaded and ran the 4gb patch, i have tried launching through Vortex and Steam both, I have uninstalled and redownloaded and installed Project Vegas and the NVSE. It crashes if i have the mods on, it crashes if i have the mods off. This is a legit Steam copy.

Fallout New California Keeps Crashing

New California crashing (Solution Found!) I've tried a bunch of stuff and can't seem to figure out how to prevent this crash. It crashes everytime I go and enter the door in the gymnasium right after I finish the coach talk where i create my character. Friends, If we had the answer to that question, we would have made like 400,000+ people HAPPY!!!! If you try to do it all in one playthrough, you save file seems to get to big. I call it memory leaks, but im sure thats not the official name. The memory is to small, to hold the game AND all the dlc. The game on one works. Have you ever had New Vegas crash while trying to play? Of course you have. I may have a solution for you: NVAC. NVAC (short for New Vegas Anti Crash) is an NVSE plugin that implements structured exception handling and sanity checking to reduce frequency of game crashes. That said, I make no promises.

What am i doing wrong?Edited by lonepine80, 26 October 2018 - 02:56 PM. I am guessing that you have the game installed in the default location. If you do, you cannot use NVSE or the 4GB patch since Windows User Access control will prevent any changes to the files in 'Program Files'.There are instructions on Steam that will tell you what you need to know to move the Steam and FNV folders.See also: New California Incompatibility List. There is also a comments page dedicated to Fallout: New California. You would more than likely get a better response posting there.Edited by M48A5, 26 October 2018 - 03:10 PM. First verify NVSE is working correctly in FNV (without loading New California; which the team is abbreviating 'FNC'). Please see the ' Item #4' entry in the wiki ' article for how to verify NVSE is functioning. If you did move Steam out of the default location, then likely any 'access privilege' problem is one of ' on the parent 'root' folder under which you installed the games. If this is not set correctly to allow at least 'System', 'Administrators', and 'Users' to have 'Full Control' then you can't overwrite other files or make changes.

You then need to enable the 'Properties Security Advanced Change Permissions' setting of the parent folder to enable the box: 'Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object', so those changes get applied to the existing files and sub-folders. If you are suddenly having a 'slowdown' or lag; or a lack of sound; or problems getting NVSE to load, or really anything new unexpectedly, please see the 'Issue: NVSE - fails to load after update KB4058043 to Win10 FCU (v1709)' entry in the wiki ' guide. This may be due to an on-going series of Windows Updates for the 'Meltdown and Spectre Vulnerabilities'.The comments page on the Nexus mod download page are also available in on the forums. (FNC was previously known as 'Project Brazil'). The forum has a 'search capability' to deal with narrowing down the 8000+ comments.-Dubious-.

3174d agoWhat annoyed me most about the Pc version of fallout 3 was that the DLC broke the game, i was amazed first time i paid and downloaded broken steel to find that in fact, i would have to wait another week for a bloody patch to play the DLC i just paid for. That was gobsmacking. All these problems make an otherwise great game terribly frustrating.

There is no possible way testers could miss these problems, especially so called professional testers. The only answer is that their products are constantly rushed and bypass basic testing procedure. 3174d agoWe have become guinea pigs at the expense of paying people to test the games before it's shipped? Sure it's great we can get patches now on consoles but the quality is getting worse and worse since so many games now require patches.I really don't like it when a game is plagued with so many errors right away. I can see after awhile some gamers will find glitches or exploits they may have overlooked but the game just came out and it makes you wonder what happened?Wonder if the review copies are different than the final copy? 3174d ago.sarcasm.

Yeah, because Obsidian had SOOO much more time to work on New Vegas than Beth Soft did.end sarcasm. Bethesda had 3 or 4 years, Obsidian had 2. People should start giving credit where credit is due.For instance, Alpha Protocol.

Keeps

Most gamers didn't play the games as indicated by the number of sales and rentals that've been shown. People just like to hate on it. The PRESENTATION was bad, but the gameplay was much better. I felt I liked it much better than I did the first Mass Effect. Sorry, but Obsidian is talented, but the presentation has NEVER been their forte (see: Fallout and Fallout 2 when they were Black Isle. Also, Knights of the Old Republic II, Neverwinter Nights 2, etc.)And I'm very much happy that my game isn't freezing up on me.

Fallout The Frontier

I guess I'm just lucky, but with 15 hours already into it, only common bugs were found by me. Just be patient people, it'll be patched just like F3 was. Oh, that's right, it's Obsidian and not BethSoft so we MUST get all pissy at Obsidian for having bugs while Fallout 3 NEVER had any. 3174d agoi played and completed fallout 3 on the 360, and it froze once. I have been playing fallout new vegas for the past 6 hours and it has yet to freeze, crash, or exhibit bugginess.if one were to go by the comments on n4g you would think this game is unplayable when that it far from the truth. So many of you folks make it sound like you have to put up with gaming like its a chore or something. If not that you take passive aggressive digs at your fellow gamers for their gaming choices.the only redeeming factor is that we here on n4g make up such a small percentage of the gaming community.I am having fun playing fallout new vegas, I think some of you should just give up on gaming, and get full time jobs being whiney bitches.
